There really is nothing quite as enjoyable as a warming spiced latte. It might be cliché but its popular for a reason. I like to get some actual pumpkin into mine but feel free to leave that out if it’s a step too far for you.

Makes: 1

  • 1 double shot of Espresso/60ml very strong instant coffee
  • 250ml of milk (or non-dairy alternative)
  • 2 Tbsp Pumpkin puree
  • ½ Tbsp Maple syrup/brown sugar (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp pumpkin spice* + more to serve
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Method

  • Start with your double shot of espresso in the bottom of your favourite mug
  • Add your milk, pumpkin puree, sweetener of choice, vanilla and spice mix to a saucepan and warm over a medium heat until steaming
  • Once hot, but not boiling whisk thoroughly
  • Pour the hot spiced milk over your espresso and top with a generous squirt of whipped cream.
  • Dust with a final flourish of pumpkin spice
  • Find a cosy spot to enjoy with a great book or comforting tv show.

*Pumpkin spice blend: 3 Tbsp ground cinnamon, 2 tsp ground ginger, 2 tsp ground nutmeg, 1tsp ground allspice, 1 tsp ground cloves.
