Senior Estates Technician – Band 6
Location: Mid & South Essex NHS Foundation Trust
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £38,682 – £46,580
Oncall: 1 in 4
We are supporting a large NHS Trust with the recruitment of a Senior Estates Technician (Band 6). The successful candidate will be an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Technician with strong technical capability and supervisory experience.
Key responsibilities:
– Undertake complex diagnostics, repairs, and PPM on building services systems.
– Participate in the Estates on-call rota.
– Respond to emergency incidents including lift entrapments, fire alarms and plant failures.
– Provide leadership and mentorship to technicians and apprentices.
– Ensure compliance with H&S legislation and Trust standards.
– Support service improvement and engineering best practice.
What we’re looking for:
– Approved apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering.
– ONC/HNC or equivalent technical qualification.
– Strong experience maintaining complex estates systems.
– Ability to interpret engineering schematics and documentation.
– Strong IT, communication and leadership skills.
