Academics Ltd are working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Swindon that is seeking a committed 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to work closely with a pupil with complex needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide consistent, tailored support to help a student access learning, develop confidence, and feel safe within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a student with additional or complex needs

• Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs

• Foster a nurturing, structured, and inclusive learning environment

• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies

• Work closely with the SENCO, teaching staff, and external professionals

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing

Ideal Candidate

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school-based experience desirable but not essential)

• Calm, patient, and resilient nature

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to build trusting, consistent relationships

• Confident managing challenging behaviour where required

• Holds a current DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one
