£36,000 – £40,000 DOE Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:00

Premier Recruitment Group are working in partnership with a well established food production company in Woolwich to recruit an Assistant Production Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for someone from a food manufacturing background who already has leadership experience.

You will support the Production Manager in overseeing daily operations within a busy manufacturing environment, supervising a team of 10+ staff while ensuring production targets, quality standards, and compliance requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising and supporting a production team of 10+ staff
• Allocating daily work across the production area
• Monitoring work in progress and planning daily production activities
• Managing staff performance, attendance, and motivation
• Ordering production consumables, plant, and equipment
• Booking transport for UK deliveries
• Working closely with the Production Manager to ensure goods are produced on time for dispatch
• Liaising with Logistics, Quality Control, and Stock departments

Requirements

• Previous experience within the food manufacturing industry is essential
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience within production
• Knowledge of BRC, HACCP, and HSE standards
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Experience collaborating across multiple departments
• FLT licence or in-house licence
• Good attention to detail with a logical and practical approach
