    We are currently seeking a highly skilled Buyer to join our team. Looking for a candidate with high focus on strategic purchasing and supplier management and development for the Supply Chain Management for the Electrification, Automation, Digitalization team for the Americas Region based in Colombia – Tenjo Facilities.

     
     

    How You’ll Make an Impact

    • Lead procurement activities, including sourcing, negotiating, and contracting with suppliers.
    • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize costs and ensure quality and reliability of supplies.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and develop sourcing plans accordingly.
    • Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong relationships with key vendors.
    • Analyze market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Prepare and conduct negotiations with external suppliers for direct material and direct services (Mainly: low and medium panels, auxiliar panels, transformers, inversors, drives, motors, steel structures, cabinets, e-houses, metal partsm manpower, assembly, Civil Works, Engineering Projects, Comissioning).  Support the business through commodity procurement strategy definition and implementation.
    • Negotiate, Implement and manage supplier contracts and agreements to meet the specific needs of the business ensuring service continuity and mitigating risk.
    • Interface with internal stakeholders to assess current and future sourcing requirements (Sales, Execution, Bid, Engineering).
    • Lead and Support the Supplier Qualification Process for new suppliers.
    • Perform Supplier Evaluations and drive Supplier Development Plans within the supply chain.
    • Support the resolution of Supplier Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
    • Support controlling reports of Procurement KPI (Savings, Governance reports.).
    • Ensure Siemens Energy´s interests are represented in all competitive sourcing activities leading to continuous improvement in quality, cost, delivery, service and technology.

     
     

    What You Bring 

    • Successfully completed bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering (Preferred) or business administration with strong electrical or mechanical affinity and experience in respective material field
    • Should have 1-3 years of experience of procurement in project business.
    • Presents facts and processes spontaneously, takes part in discussions about daily tasks and issues in an international team.
    • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills, along with ability to establish relationships and influence customers on different levels.
    • Advanced proficiency in English
    • Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems is highly desirable.
    • Background in procurement
