    Salary:
    £25,296 plus £1,350 essential car user allowance – Pro Rata

    Hours: 31.6 hours per week

    Contract: Permanent

    The Role

    As a member of the Independent Living Services team, you will be responsible for providing assistance and support to a range of customers, predominantly older people, to help maintain independent living. You will provide practical support to help customers sustain accommodation and support them with their liaisons with other agencies to help maintain independence in the community. You will provide, outcome-driven, preventative services that are accessible and responsive to the needs of the customer.

    The main responsibilities of the role are:

    • To promote, develop and deliver independent living services across North Devon.
    • To carry out individual assessments of customers, identifying support needs and the level of support to be provided.
    • To monitor the health, well-being and safeguarding of customers and advise nominated contacts, the safeguarding lead, or any other relevant agencies if there are concerns.

    About You

    • You will have experience of working with older people, or, in a customer focused environment and will have an understanding of different approaches in dealing with people with challenging social, mental and/or physical issues.
    • You will have experience of working with external partners/agencies such as the NHS.
    • You will be patient and have the ability to stay calm in a crisis or when dealing with challenging situations.
    • You will have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to communicate clearly with people who may have limited sensory capacity or understanding.

    The successful candidate will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
