Senior Network Engineer – Manchester – £45,000-£50,000
VIQU are currently working with a large networking company based in Manchester. They are currently recruiting for a Senior Network Engineer to roll out several projects for them. The Network Engineers would be responsible for building, operating, maintaining and routine deployment of core IP, transit and peering, distribution, access, datacentre and exchange networks.Whilst rolling out projects, the senior network engineer will also be a point of escalation for the NOC team. In carrying out these activities they will contribute to and support the development of junior members of the network engineering team to ensure we can continue to achieve our goals for the department.

Key Responsibilities
• Completion of complex implementation and migration projects.
• Perform scheduled testing that verifies security and failover mechanisms on a range of different services.• Carry out timely patching and upgrades to the network• Respond to faults, alerts, escalations and change requests on our network.• Carrying out planned work outside office hours where needed to minimise customer impact.• Participate in a 24×7 call-out rota once you reach the required benchmarks of the role. Technical Skills • Working towards CCNP/JNCIS.• Experience operating a network using, MPLS, IS-IS, OSFP and BGP.• Experience in working with graphing and monitoring platforms.• Experience working with firewalls and switches.• Writing LLD’s and Implementation plans for non-routine work.
• Prior examples of projects you have rolled out.
