A global plastics packaging manufacturer are seeking a Field Service Engineer to deal with breakdowns/servicing of their packaging machinery through the Southwest area and occasionally further afield (Rare). Primarily, the customer base is food/meat based companies. This is a great opportunity for a Field Service Engineer to put their own stamp on the company as well as working in a fast paced and growing environment.
Field Service Engineer (Multi-Skilled)
£40,000 – £45,000 (DOE)
Mobile Working
5 day working week.
Southwest UK – M4
They are offering a salary reflecting experience with (Electric or Hybrid vehicle), Overtime at least once a month, but more can be considered (Saturday £35 an hour & £45 Sunday) 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, plus additional 5 for long service, 10% private pension, life insurance 3x salary, £9000 bonus, income protection, advanced sick pay, Bupa health care,
Responsibilities include:
- Travelling to customer sites around the Southwest and up to parts of the Midlands.
- The role requires visits to packaging business across the Southwest area where you will install, service, maintain, prevent, and repair the vacuum packaging machinery primarily.
- Be able to read electrical diagrams to re – wire and wire, deal with repair and replace single phase and three phase motors.
- You will effectively lead and service and repair the machinery equipment & assets.
- You will be required to work on some mechanical issues including pneumatics work,
- You will be able to replace and repair invertors, relays, AC & DC 3 phase motor Drives
- Commissioning of new machinery, Breakdowns, service & installation
- You will be able to read as well as understand electrical diagrams and schematics, dealing with any electrical circuits, wiring or re wiring.
- Understanding and dealing with the replacement of ethernet cables and dealing with 415vlt machinery.
Essential:
- Strong customer service skills
- 2+ years’ experience in electrical/mechanical engineering 60-40 split.
- Ideally packaging experience is preferred, but other areas will be considered.
- Competent in both electrical and mechanical engineering.
- Having at least a level 3 qualification in engineering.
- Must be comfortable travelling to other areas when required.
- Must be looking to progress and ambition is key.
Note –
There will be stay away visits, which vary but expect at least two a week due to the nature of the role.
