Job Title: Civil Engineer Cramlington
Job Summary:
A civil engineer to oversee the Design Build Partner (DBP) design and construction elements of the Project. The role involves a new warehouse (4200 pallet space / 4050m2), new packing hall (4000m2), new access road and carparks, ensuring safety and environmental standards are met by the DBP, and collaborating with a range of professionals and stakeholders.
Main reporting line will be to the Client Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Design:
o Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies.
o Review of detailed designs, plans, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
o Analysing project budgets, timelines, and resource plans.
2. Construction:
o Ensure work is performed according to design specifications and safety standards.
o Inspect project sites regularly to monitor progress and compliance.
3. Technical Support and Problem-Solving:
o Provide technical advice and solutions to on-site issues if required.
o Ensure that any changes to projects are implemented correctly.
o Troubleshoot design and construction problems.
4. Compliance and Standards:
o Ensure all projects comply with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
o Review of necessary documentation and permits.
o Participate in risk assessments and implement health and safety measures.
5. Project Management:
o Advise on project budgets and resources efficiently with client Project Controls Lead.
o Review of progress reports and documentation.
o Communicate effectively with client, stakeholders, and team members.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; a master’s degree can be beneficial.
- Licensing: Professional Engineer (PE) license is required and knowledge of NEC 4 contract is essential.
- Experience: Relevant experience in civil engineering, typically ranging from 2-5 years for entry-level positions and more for senior roles.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, project management tools, and engineering principles.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and teamwork capabilities.
- Other Requirements: Understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
