We are working with a local authority who are recruiting for a Communications Specialist (Policy) for Digital Inclusion in Adult Social Care and Resettlement service support.
This role profile covers two part time temporary roles. Firstly, to support the Digital Inclusion team to deliver a toolkit and a clear communications plan for the Digital Inclusion in Adult Social Care programme. Secondly to support the Resettlement Service to create regular communications and promotion of events. Alternatively, if you’re able to fulfil both, then a full-time position is available.

Communications Specialist – Digital Inclusion in ASC (18 hrs per week)
Resettlement Service Communications Support (18.5 hours a week)
- Provide strategic support and campaign delivery for the Digital Inclusion in Adult Social Care programme, working closely with the Digital Inclusion team and the ambassadors
- To be responsible for developing and implementing a communications strategy and plan that will raise awareness and engagement with the programme, and support the delivery of the toolkit and the brand
- Use a range of channels and methods to reach and influence the target audiences, such as social media, newsletters, webinars, events, press releases, case studies, videos, podcasts, etc.
- Provide guidance and support to the ambassadors and the partner organisations on how to communicate effectively and consistently about the programme, and how to use the toolkit and the brand
- Monitor and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of the communications activities, and report on the progress and outcomes of the programme
- Identify stakeholders and communicate using the most appropriate method to reach those groups
- The Communications Specialist will have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field, or substantial experience in a similar role
- Strong project management and organisational skills, and the ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate communications campaigns and activities within budget and deadlines
- Good interpersonal and networking skills, and the ability to work collaboratively and constructively with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including the Digital Inclusion team, the ambassadors, the partner organisations, the media, and the public
- Creative and innovative approach, and the ability to use digital tools and platforms effectively and confidently
- The Communications Specialist will be employed by the Local Authority for initially 3 months, with a possibility of extension subject to funding and performance
- The Communications Specialist will work within the Communications team but will work closely with Digital Inclusion and Resettlement service leads and other stakeholders, and will work closely to the Digital Inclusion Lead, and will be part of the Digital Inclusion team
