    Apprentice Finance Assistant + Day Release
    Location – Whitchurch
    Salary: £18,000 – £22,000

    This food manufacturer has been established for over 100 years and is grounded in heritage and rural surroundings but also have the ambition and capability to innovate, move forward and deliver for both customers and consumers.
    At their Whitchurch, site the Finance team cover everything from accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals/prepayments, Payroll, fixed asset maintenance and balance sheet reconciliations.
    This position would suit someone who is interested in a career in finance. Training will be full-time in the Whitchurch office, with one day a week study at a college of your choice to support your AAT qualification.
    Key responsibilities:

  • Process supplier invoices and employee expenses
  • Checking expense claim receipts against the company expense policy and identifying VAT to reclaim in accordance with HMRC guidelines
  • Reviewing CIS deductions and completing returns
  • Dealing with supplier queries and requests for payment
  • Verification of supplier bank details
  • Processing weekly supplier and expense payment runs
  • Daily bank reconciliations for sterling and multiple currency accounts
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Raising sales invoices
  • Maintaining and reconciling cash flow spreadsheet
  • Any other adhoc duties including process improvement initiatives

    • Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE Grades A to C (or equivalent) including Maths and English
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data
  • Team player
  • Can show initiative
  • Self-motivated
  • Approachable
  • Can work to tight deadlines
