Technical Sales Manager – Steam Turbines & Generators

    The Regional Project Development Manager is responsible for technical sales and order capture for Steam Turbines & Generators advanced business (large or sophisticated mod & ups and revamps, service programs, OOEM, BOP), and responsible for the preparation of the final quotations/proposals, definition of project strategy, if vital integration of multiple product line offerings and localized content, and to participate in the negotiations in coordination with the Client Manager and Product Line (PL).

    Working in the Steam Turbines & Generator (STG) business in United Kingdom, Ireland and South West Europe we support more than 120+ customers from power generation, industrial sector, oil & gas sectors. The projects which you will be involved are large and most sophisticated around the world in this industry.

    How You’ll Make an Impact

    • Works within the STG Organization to identify, evaluate, develop, and follow-up on advanced business projects
    • Develops and implements an Annual Operating Plan for meeting their individual target, and plans / forecasts order volumes based on proactive opportunity development within the assigned territory.
    • Coordinates STG regional / PL technical resources in pursuit of advanced business for the assigned territory.
    • Investigates and evaluates specific advanced business opportunities for the customer related product and service portfolio. Qualifies opportunities to determine bid strategy and solution.
    • Manages the sales funnel by timely documenting the life cycle of sophisticated business opportunities and ensure all advanced business opportunities are accurately entered into Salesforce.com (SFDC), forecasted and supervised to closure.
    • Prepares, coordinates, and conducts project & proposal negotiations in cooperation with the Client Manager and other resources.
    • Performs / Coordinates the preparation and tracking of proposals in support of the found opportunities, regional cost modelling and guarantees.
    • Supports customers directly in cost/benefits analyses and calculations to demonstrate specific advantages of using Siemens Energy products.
    • Incorporates account management Strategic Selling Strategies or similar if agreed in all sales activities.
    • Provides voice of the client needs/competitive intelligence, market drivers and buying influences for the development of new product and service offerings.
    • Initiates the LoA Management process for advanced business in accordance with STG global policies.
    • Supports growth initiatives and opportunities as required.

    What You Bring

    • Educated to a degree level, preferably in an engineering field.
    • Have strong technical understanding of steam turbines and generators
    • Background within the Oil & Gas, Energy from Waste, or Power Generation sectors is desirable.
    • Candidate should have a full & valid drivers’ license, be prepared to travel 25% of time in the internationally.
    • Comfortable working at all levels within the organisation (internal and external customers).
    • Fully conversant with the competitive marketplace and have sound commercial understanding, P&L and risk leadership skills.
    • The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead complex, multi-workstream opportunities while maintaining a solid understanding and implementation of internal governance procedures.
    • You are a strategic think tank and an expert in value-add selling.
    • Have a self-motivated drive to improve customer satisfaction and to reach the sales targets
    • Run economic analysis and business cases for key customers. Apply a variety of methods to identify risk areas and impacts. Define appropriate mitigations and control (the pricing of) risks
