The Mechanical Fitter
performs precision inspections, repairs
and assembly on steam turbines, high speed compressors, and related equipment for
the power, gas, and oil industries.
How You’ll Make an Impact
·
Carry
out equipment inspections, repairs, and assemblies according to a detailed
checklist and report discrepancies to the Supervisor immediately.
·
Adherence
to defined manufacturing and testing guidelines, processes, and
procedures.
· Ensure that all production
activities are according to established quality and EHS requirements.
· Contributes to
production planning processes, determines priorities based on schedules.
· Interprets
specifications and makes judgments about acceptability of production in process.
·
Proposes
procedures improvements and implements technical infrastructure.
·
Participate in continuous improvement and
optimization of maintenance
and repair methods.
·
Ensure that all tools and
equipment supplied are handled and maintained with care.
·
Ensure that the
health and safety of employees,
plant, equipment, and buildings are maintained
in
accordance with
the health, safety and environmental policies
of
the company.
·
Comply
with all Siemens Energy policies and procedures in
all activities.
·
Ensure that housekeeping
standards are maintained and
adhered to
What You Bring
Qualifications and Experience
- Must have a valid Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter and
Turner - Grade 12 or relevant equivalent tertiary qualification
- Mechanical fitting experience with turbo machinery, compressors,
steam turbines, high speed gear assemblies, and related auxiliary equipment. - Must have excellent measuring skills to measure to within 0,01mm
accuracy. - Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Knowledge, Skills, and
Abilities
- Knowledge of turbo machinery, compressors, turbine rotors, high
speed gear assemblies, and related auxiliaries - Knowledge and experience of principles, procedures, work
routines and skills in mechanical fitting. - Computer skills required, MS Office Package and Outlook
- Valid Driver’s License

· Be
available after hours to for overtime and standby as required.

the Johannesburg area with own transport to work and back.
