A Snapshot of Your Day
The Transformer Resource Manager is responsible for management & coordination of field personnel as well as managing equipment for Siemens Energy, Inc Transformer Service group and field-testing QA/QC and final test report preparation. The position provides coverage to assigned Siemens Energy US service areas with the candidate preferably residing in the area. A qualified candidate in this position will provide excellent customer service while managing personnel, safety, quality, training, schedule, and budget. Directly responsible for the development of field personnel and maintenance of all field service equipment.
Reports directly to National Transformer Field Service Manager. Effective communication and collaboration with Project Managers (PMs), Business Development Managers (BDMs), and QTC Manager is required
May require some travel and non-standard schedules at field locations with exposure to varying environmental conditions
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Review time sheets and expenses and ensure all coding is accurate for project costing.
- Provide timely and completed documentation of work performed and ensure test data is submitted
- Aids the National Transformer Field Service Manager in scheduling and assigning crews to projects
- Provide regular updates to management on work performed
- Ensure personnel are accurately equipped to perform each project
- Ensure personnel are performing vital preventive maintenance on all issued equipment
- Manage the upkeep of all equipment & assets
- Develop current staff and manage field service personnel growth by recruiting and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
- Reviews test data during testing for accuracy and reporting
- Compiles all test data into final report and serves as first line QA/QC of all data.
- Prepares final test report as deliverable and submits to testing manager for final QA/QC
- Reviews and fully understands the project’s scope of work, budget, prior to commencement.
- Ensure quality, and best practice processes to meet Siemens Energy standards as well as customer and competitive needs
- Ensure safety culture for Service Center employees consistent with existing Siemens Energy safe working procedures/practices.
What You Bring
- At least 12 years in transformer service field
- 10+ years of experience in technical assembly, maintenance and repair of power and distribution transformers / transformer accessories in utility/energy electrical industry
- Expert level skill in one or more of: Distribution, Power, and Transmission electrical substation equipment in power ranges of Low Voltage (4160V – 13kV), Medium Voltage (13kV – 69kV) or High Voltage (69kV – 800 kV)
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively in a professional manner on all aspects of transformer service activities, verbal or written, whilst understanding the importance of protecting the company’s propriety information and intellectual property rights.
- Possess comprehensive skills to interpret the scope of work, assembly, general arrangement drawings, electrical prints and one-line diagrams, as well as test data and factory instruction manuals Responsible for maintaining a high level of professionalism with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
- Preferred experience in developing & maintaining operating budgets
- High level of interpersonal skills with ability to prioritize tasks and projects with little direction and supervision.
- Effective business judgment and decision-making skills.
- Must possess excellent written communication skills and be capable of writing job directives, work instructions and protocols.
- Knowledge and ability to work with computers and Microsoft Office Systems
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and Windows based software, as well as online tools.
- US Citizenship required
- Possession of or ability to attain a US Passport for international travel
- Possession of or ability to attain a DOD Security Clearance
- Must be available to travel approximately 50%
