Do you possess experience of specialist jewellery and metal making? We are looking for a skilled and self-motivated technician to provide effective student support in 3D making at London College of Fashion (LCF).
In this exciting role, you will support student learning via informal/formal training and instruction. Your professional expertise, guidance and advice will develop student proficiency with highly specialist techniques, production methods and technology. This will include delivering feedback to students through formative assessments, offering critical input to student concepts in relation to course learning outcomes.
In addition to this, you will be responsible for the daily running of the 3D workshops and associated areas within the College, including the use and booking of specialist facilities within and without timetabled teaching sessions. You will also undertake planned maintenance and repairs, perform routine housekeeping activities and keep maintenance logs up to date.
You will also contribute to the planning and development of the 3D area, as well as the identification of learning outcomes, including curriculum development, research, and commercial activities.
About you
Educated to degree level in 3D making or jewellery, or with the equivalent relevant experience, you will exhibit knowledge and experience of PUK and spot welding.
You will possess experience within a similar Higher Education role, along with experience of teaching and/or demonstrating equipment and techniques relating to jewellery and 3D.
You will also demonstrate knowledge of making specific to jewellery, experience of multi-disciplinary jewellery workshop environments, as well as associated technical skills and a broad understanding of making in metal.
Experience of producing induction/training material is also essential.
