components for industrial gas turbine engines at the Siemens Energy facility in
Charlotte, NC. The scope of work includes participation in the following major
component development phases; Conceptual development, prototype development,
manufacturing, & testing, basic design & analysis, manufacturing
development & qualification, support on-site and off-site manufacturing
deviations and decision making, engine testing & validation.

    How You’ll Make an Impact

You will be supporting the design of new and/or upgraded
rotor/casing components and compressor blades and vanes. You will make a direct
impact by supporting the compressor module working as a design engineer, to
meet the needs of the marketplace. These needs include new hardware design to
support sophisticated engine platforms, design changes for performance
enhancements, manufacturing improvements, service improvements, and overall
life cycle optimization. You are a motivated individual who looks to address
responsibility, ownership, and dynamic challenges and excitement associated
with maintaining and improving designs. More specific responsibilities would
    include the following:

You will be the primary manufacturing to RnD interface for
all Large Gas Turbine (LGT) rotors coming in for service in our facility, as
well as for new rotor production. Your knowledge and expertise of manufacturing
processes, along with an in-depth understanding and ability to create and
interpret design engineering drawings, is key to your success as a
    subject-matter guide.

interaction with shop floor personnel and equipment while you challenge
the status quo with well researched ideas that withstand the test of
technical debate. Bringing together shop feedback to improve the designs
using CAD software and development (drawings, BOM) for rotor and casing
      components in gas turbines
    • Performing
fundamental structural analysis mainly using hand calculations and first
      principles.
    • You
will aid others, or perform structural analysis using advance computer FEA
techniques while helping with budget planning, cost controlling, and
      planning of time schedule
    • Provide
documentation in the form of technical reports, specifications, and design
      review packages
    • Coordination
of these tasks in close collaboration with internal or external suppliers
/ contractors and in partnership with component engineering as well as
      manufacturing and field service

motivation and willingness to take ownership of the end product.
    • Significant
mechanical design, some basic analysis, and familiarity of
building/checking basic engineering prints of rotating industrial
      machinery or similar applications.
    • BSME
or equivalent experience, with a focus in machine design or a related
      field
    • Ability
and experience to perform drawing stack-ups and outstanding communication
