Senior Accountant, Preston, £30k – £40k, clear progression and hybrid working at an independent practice

Your new role
As a senior accountant, you will be responsible for taking an active role within the accounts team reporting into managers and partners. Your day-to-day duties will see you preparing the accounts for a varied portfolio of clients, typically limited companies, LLPS and partnerships, along with preparing management accounts, VAT returns and forecasts. You will also be taking a lead with the preparation of tax computations, whilst acting as the first point of contact with clients, assisting them daily. As a senior, you will have the opportunity to oversee junior members of staff, reviewing their work and managing them daily, whilst reporting into the partners. As this is a general practice, you will also get exposure to audit work, assisting to manage audit assignments and preparing the files to a high standard.
What you’ll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role, you will need a minimum of 3 years practice experience, being either ACCA or ACA qualified, finalist level or qualified by experience. You will need prior experience working on an audit file, preparing and submitting accounts to partner review and overseeing juniors in a role. Experience with Sage, Xero, Quickbooks or IRIS software’s is desired.
