Commissioning
is the process of testing a solution, facility, plant or a specific piece of
equipment when
it is almost finished being built to make sure it functions properly.
Therefore, commissioning engineers
need to have a thorough knowledge of Solutions/manufacturing in order to test
whether a piece
of equipment, machinery or production plant functions correctly and according
to the specifications
of the customer. They assist in developing commissioning procedures and standards
for the organization.
How You’ll Make an
Impact
- To
conduct onsite Installation checks, Pre-commissioning and commissioning checks,
testing and start-up of all equipment associated with Oil & Gas onshore
and offshore solutions and represent the Company in a professional manner. - To
conduct services, trouble shooting of equipment under the 24/7 Service
agreements and service calls received from the customers’ - To
conduct Client Operator Training on site and in classroom in accordance with
Manuals and Procedures. - The
Commissioning Engineer participates in discussions internally and with
customers on the studies, operation, pre-commissioning, mechanical
installations & commissioning procedure write-ups, start-up of the
operation assistance, sail-off assistance, and sea-trial assistance. - Commissioning
Engineer must review and approve all commissioning procedures to ensure they are
compliant with the procedures, specifications and standards of the project. It
is the - Commissioning
Engineer’s responsibility to make sure that all commissioning procedures follow
all appropriate safety practices and procedures. He or she enthusiastically
participates in all project and company safety programs as per company HSSE
policy and OSHA’S regulations. - In
addition, the Commissioning Engineer must audit commissioning activities on
regularly to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety
requirements. The Commissioning - Engineer
communicates with the project engineering office in order to make sure that the
applicable manufacturing/fabrication drawings are created in accordance with
all commissioning requirements. - He or she
is responsible for regularly monitoring and reporting commissioning progress. - Prepare
Site visit reports and pre-invoicing Documentation, including any follow up
action notes. - Ensure
weekly time sheets are submitted in a timely manner to office. - Ensure
expense claim forms are submitted in a timely manner. - Identify
and report to Client spares requirements and prepare spares and service
quotations in association with other key staff. - Report
any loss or damage of testing tools, computers and other miscellaneous
materials of the company which the commissioning engineer is in possessions. - Liaison
with sales engineer, project manager, department manager to ensure customer requirements
is met
What You Bring
- Position
required: Automation – Senior commissioning and service engineer (background:
Drives & Automation) - Should
demonstrate good communication and organizational skills. - Should
exhibit solid understanding and regard for safety issues related to the
engineering field. - Need to
have strong analytic skills, be able to work well both independently and as
part of a team, and be very service-oriented. - Should
able to work well in fast-paced environments and should exhibit respect for
strict project deadlines - Should
have worked in the similar commissioning field related to Automation, DCS and
Drives (AC & DC Drives) system - Background
in Siemens PLC, DCS and Drives will be a added recognition during the
selections - A
Commissioning Engineer should possess at least a bachelor’s degree or a diploma
in an engineering-related field such as Electrical, Electronics, Construction
Engineering at least 9-15 years. - He or she
should have worldwide experience in operation/Servicing/Process design within
the Oil and Gas industry. - A
Commissioning Engineer must also have experience in applying HSE-standards,
leading a start-up and commissioning team and with operation classroom
training. - He or she
is able to maintain HSE consistence onsite and possesses good communication and
people skills, in addition to their willingness to travel.
