    Research Officer

    Salary from £42,429 to £50,656 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £54,295 pa inclusive of London allowance.

    This is a fixed term appointment for 7 months.

    This post is to aid Assistant Professor Lauren Sukin in a programme of research examining the effects of political polarisation on nuclear strategy and policy.

    The job involves working on academic research that relies extensively on survey data. The postholder will also be expected to work with interview data, historical case studies, cross-national and sub-national data, and the literature related to this programme of research.

    Candidates should have:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in political science, international relations, public policy, statistics, data science, or a related discipline by the post start date.
    • Demonstrable quantitative research skills including some experience with statistics and R.
    • Ability to engage with the literature related to the programme of research and undertake literature reviews.

    This job will especially suit those who are looking for a pre-doctoral position to gain valuable skills before completing a PhD or those who have recently completed a PhD and are looking for valuable research experience.
