    We are looking for an Active Outdoors Development Co-ordinator to join the team at Dunstable Downs. Your role is all about people – connecting with them, inspiring them and finding ways to make our sites accessible and welcoming to new groups.

    Hours:
    You’ll work the equivalent of one day per week. This could mean working two half days however working hours are flexible and can be agreed with a time and day that suits you. Some weekend working will be required.

    Salary:
    £12.24 per hour

    What it’s like to work here

    Reporting to the Volunteering and Community manager, you’ll be working in a team of four to ensure Dunstable Downs has a varied and ambitious calendar of events. You’ll work closely with our Programming and Partnerships officer to bring in third party events that complement our National Trust-led events.

    What you’ll be doing

    Your role will focus primarily on our third party engagement, leading the management of event licensing and allowing more people to come and enjoy our sites. You’ll find new relationships and opportunities within our local community to host events at Dunstable Downs, ensuring our continued commitment to our community engagement strategy.

    Understanding how and why we engage with our supporters is key. Working with our spirit of place and our visitor welcome team you will help to link everything we do back to our cause and the ongoing work we do.

    Where required, you will act as a Duty Manager to ensure our visitors operations remain compliant, well-presented and well-staffed each day.

    Who we’re looking for

    To deliver this role successfully, you’ll have:

    • excellent teamwork skills
    • excellent customer service skills and experienced communicator
    • experience of working with external and internal stakeholders
    • experience in supervising volunteers and an understanding of the volunteer journey
    • knowledge of active outdoor sporting events, how they operate and how we can partner with them
    • knowledge of health and safety compliance requirements and risk assessments
