    We are looking for a mechanic/storeperson to work with the housing grounds maintenance team to manage the procurement, maintenance, and servicing of its horticultural machinery to ensure Hackney’s environments are clean, safe, and green.

    You will also be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of our three depots, liaising with contractors to complete any major changes and addressing minor issues yourself.

    The majority of your working day will be to ensure that the fleet of machines are working correctly so a practical knowledge of machine maintenance is essential, you will need to induct staff on the safe use of all machinery.

    You will be a well organised individual with the ability to use IT systems to store servicing and maintenance information and be responsible for the issuing of Personal Protective Equipment in relation to specific tasks, the storage and inventory of these items and the general storage of materials are a key element of the role.
