    The role

    The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant export control regulations and accurately classifying Siemens Energy UK&I goods, software, and technology for export purposes. This role is crucial in maintaining our adherence to international trade laws and regulations.

    A Snapshot of Your Day

    • Classification of Export Items: Determine the appropriate export control classification for goods, software, and technology, ensuring compliance with UK export regulations and international trade laws.
    • Check classification data received from suppliers.
    • Tools: implement and maintain classification tools and processes (UK-AL/ECCN).
    • Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate records and documentation for export transactions, including classification determinations.
    • Internal Auditing: Conduct regular audits of classification export control processes and documentation to ensure ongoing compliance, including spot checks.
    • Training and Support: Provide training as required to internal teams on export control regulations relating to classification procedures.
    • Coordination with Authorities: Liaise with government authorities and regulatory bodies as necessary to ensure compliance and address any issues that arise.
    • Reporting: Prepare and submit required reports to management.
    • Collaborate with global EX team (in particular the Classification team), including supporting classification projects and digitalisation initiatives. How You’ll Make an Impact
    • Good communication skills and ability to liaise with all levels and numerous departments essential.
    • IT literate and familiar with Microsoft Office suite, SAP, PLM2020 to support business and department needs.
    • Good written and spoken English.

    What You Bring

    • A degree in and/or equivalent working experience in a technology or product engineering field.
    • Working knowledge of UK/EU and US export control regulations for controlled items lists.
    • Knowledge of product specific restrictions for exports and de-minimis calculations, embargo classifications.
    • Good understanding of SE products, software and technology.
    • Ability to handle complex issues and communicate to non-specialists. About the Team Based at one of Siemens Energy’s main UK sites (Newcastle, Manchester, Lincoln or Warwick), you will work with a team of 5 Export Control professionals and report to the UK Head of Compliance. The team manages the export control compliance for parts and technology for the UK and Ireland and is part of the Global EX team.
