    Do you want to have a ‘once in a career’ opportunity to set up a brand-new educational psychology department within the new Children’s Services Directorate at the Isle of Wight Council.

    Once in post our Principle Educational Psychologist will

    • Set up and manage the Educational Psychology Service including management of staff.
    • Oversee the strategic projects our Educational Psychology Service will lead on.
    • Develop and monitor service planning, including KPI’s and statutory timeframes.
    • Develop a traded service.
    • Represent the EP Service within the various meetings and partnerships.
    • Work with senior colleagues to drive forward the Education Strategy.
    • Work with senior colleagues to improve SEN provision across the Island
    • Contribute towards our Safety Valve work.
    • Work with senior colleagues to contribute towards our Area SEND preparation.
    • Improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

    You will need to be:

    • A qualified Educational Psychologist with significant leadership experience
    • Able to work as part of a team, taking responsibility for areas they lead on.
    • Able to access face to face meetings locally.
    • An exceptional verbal and written communicator
    • Committed to ensuring children and young people across the Isle of Wight achieve their best outcomes and develop into independent adults.
    • As a new department we are building our reputation and relationships with schools and across the council.
