SGT 100-400 – Mechanical Technical Field Advisor

    The SGT mechanical field advisor is responsible for SGT
    field service mechanical activities on complex projects ensuring compliance
    with specification and satisfactory handover to the customer. In this role you
    are technically responsible for the mechanical activities of SGT 100 – 400,
    rotating equipment in the Middle East for I&C, M&U and Standard Service
    Lines. You will provide support, guidance, training & leadership for less
    qualified field service engineers in addition to customer operator personnel.

    You will be responsible for troubleshooting activities during Customer
    emergency / breakdown situations. You will also provide office based Technical
    Support to Internal and External Customers during idle time.

    How You’ll Make an Impact

    • Performs the mechanical activity and carries out engineering
      modifications (hardware) to ensure the customer plant performs to
      specification.
    • Performs the review of complex plans, drawings and
      schematics and provides continual guidance throughout the task duration.
    • Collaborates with the site manager and project engineer
      (where applicable) to ensure the company’s commercial position is safeguarded
      during mechanical activity.
    • Represent the company during formal customer
      briefing / de-briefing meetings to update the customer on mechanical progress,
      again safeguarding the interests of the company.
    • Attend formal debrief meetings to ensure details of
      problems encountered and design changes carried out are fed back to engineering
      and production departments.
    • Perform specialist troubleshooting activities
      worldwide.
    • Performs the mechanical activities for complex
      projects, agreeing the specialist procedures with the engineering department
      and briefing/preparation on the company’s contractual obligations.
    • Performs complex site surveys to provide detailed
      reports from the basis of design plans for modification and upgrades.
    • Provide onsite training to less experienced field
      service engineers. Update knowledge on new products and vendor equipment and
      assist in developing commissioning procedures. Also guides the training of
      customer operators in the maintenance of complex equipment.
    • Provides professional site visit reports for
      submission to the customer.
    • Be available to travel worldwide at the minimum
      notice.

    What You Bring

    • Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in delivering service
      products to the customer in an operating environment within the Oil and Gas
      Market.
    • Holds a BSc/BEng in related discipline or advanced
      degree. Certification may be required in some areas. Equivalent field
      experience would be considered.
    • Broad product knowledge (core, package and
      controls) preferably in a hands-on capacity
    • Demonstrates and applies broad knowledge of field
      of specialization to the successful completion of complex assignments.
    • Demonstrates complex knowledge of concepts,
      practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of organization’s business
      practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those
      issues.
