    A
    Snapshot of Your Day

    The Principal
Power Systems Consultant will use their technical & commercial background
and expertise to orchestrate technical studies related to new power generation,
storage or load resources wanting to interconnect to the transmission network
and guide clients in selecting the efficient solutions. Later, they will review
and sign off recommendations that address specific challenges of isolated,
inverter-based power systems being implemented to decarbonize an existing industrial
site. In between meetings, they will present virtually to new clients our
offering portfolio. Finally, the Principal Consultant will review the progress
of the several consulting engagements under their oversight and check status
    vs. planned workplan.

    The position
can be located anywhere in Australia, with a preference for Sydney or
    Melbourne.

    How
    You’ll Make an Impact

    The Principal
Power Systems Consultant will be responsible for:

    • Supervising
the execution of analyses of power systems, engagements regarding
transmission and industrial network planning, and grid interconnection
studies of large generation, storage and load resources.
    • Engaging
with clients to work towards successful grid connection requests,
highlighting potential risks and commercial implications.
    • Supporting
the integration of power electronic devices, renewable generation, storage
devices, HVDCs, etc. into AC grids (from conceptual studies to project
      execution).
    • Supporting
the analyses of high-frequency phenomena like harmonic distortion,
transient overvoltage’s, TRV, missing zero-crossings, inrush currents,
      etc.
    • Engaging
in business development activities by developing proposals to address our
clients’ challenges and putting together the appropriate execution team.
    • Leading
consulting engagements through completion, aligning team members from

    You Bring

    • University
degree or equivalent experience in electrical power engineering (M.Sc. or
Ph.D.) with significant professional experience conducting power system
analysis both in steady-state, complex and transient domains (confirmed
      experience).
    • Solid
understanding and experience in transmission system planning and operating
studies, and power system performance analyses including steady-state
studies, transient stability, small-signal stability, voltage stability,
transients, insulation coordination, protection coordination and power
      quality.
    • Deep
understanding of grid connection procedures and grid codes, and
particularly the modelling and study work involved. Proven experience
working and speaking publicly with independent / transmission system
operators (ISO / TSO), utilities, and developers.
    • Sophisticated
skills and knowledge in the field of high voltage applications, industrial
power supply concepts, power electronics, HVDC and FACTS, power plants,
      and renewable generation.
