The post is full time (40 hours per week). It is ongoing temporary.
Hours worked: Monday – Friday 08.00am – 5pm. These hours may differ slightly with different projects.
Your new role
The main responsibility for this role is to carry out security practices within the prison whilst subcontractor work is carried out. You will be responsible for:
- Meeting contractors at the main gate and signing them in and out
- Completing a tool inventory with the contractors prior to them starting work inside the prison and checking again at the end of the day before they leave the establishment
- Escorting the contractors to their working area, escorting them for breaks and overseeing them whilst they work
- Ensuring no security practices are breached within the prison.
Due to the challenging environment of the workplace, the ideal candidate will need to be level-headed, security conscious, be able to follow processes and procedures and understand why they are in place, be honest and have the confidence to report any suspicious activity that they see in the prison and be able to use their own initiative.
What you’ll need to succeed
You must be able to pass a full prison security clearance (Hays and the MOJ are responsible for organising all security clearances)
You must hold a valid passport or Full Birth Certificate & Photo UK Driving Licence at your current address.
You must have proof of National Insurance AND proof of address dated in the past 3 months.
All applicants must be able to provide details of at least 3 years of satisfactory references.
