    Thisis a great opportunity for an experienced CardiacPhysiologist to be part of the amazing ‘Team Duchy’and to further the development of the elective cardiology serviceat the Duchy Hospital with a cardiac cath lab that is aboutto be fully refurbished with state-of-the-art facilities enablingadditional services.

    Thecardiology service currently provides a range of outpatientclinics, diagnostic testing for both in-patients and outpatients,and our lab offers a range of procedures including electiveangiography, PCI, device implantation, Cardioversion andTransoesophageal echocardiography. The lab is about to be fullyrefurbished which will allow further development of the range ofPCI procedures to include Rotablation andshockwave.

    The successfulcandidate should be an experienced cardiac physiologist able todeliver their own outpatient clinics performing andreporting echo. Professional accreditation with BSE and/orHRUK/IBHRE is a necessity for the role. Competence to undertakeother non-invasive investigations such as stress echo, treadmills,and pacemaker FU including ILR, CRT, ICD and brady devices would beadvantageous as would the ability to support cath lab lists forelective angiography, PCI and device implant/explant although thisis not arequirement.

    Suitableapplicants must have the ability to work under pressure and be ableto effectively manage the team as well as working as a part of thatteam. They should be able to demonstrate previous managementexperience including managing a team of staff, managing clinicalactivity, and communication across disciplines includingconsultants. They will show a willingness to learn to furtherdevelop their knowledge andskills.

    We are looking for anexpert with a high level of professional and clinical knowledgeacquired through formaltraining/experience.

    Therole of Principal Cardiac Physiologist willinclude:

    • Dailymanagement of the Cardiology Service including managing capacityand demand, and dealing with patient issues,
    • Supportingthe non-clinical support staff in booking and arrangingappointments, managingstock
    • Dealing withConsultant queries and supporting the clinical members of theteam.
    • Toparticipate in the provision the full range of cardiac proceduresundertaken within the outpatientsetting.
    • ECHOaccreditation is essential for therole.
