    About the role

    Energia, part of Energia Group, have an exciting opportunity for Site Supervisors based in Northern Ireland or South West Ireland.

    Reporting to the Lead Area Supervisor, these key roles will have the responsibility of monitoring, managing and reporting on the performance of both existing wind farm sites and those in development in the Republic of Ireland / Munster region and Northern Ireland. The role will be focused on our 4 pillars of operational priority – Safety of Personnel, Safety of Environment & Plant, Availability & Efficiency. As Energia Renewable Operations are ISO55001 accredited to Asset management, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, ISO18001 OHSAS, and ISO9001 Quality Management, this role will be heavily driven by upholding these key standards and requirements of the business. The role includes on-call responsibilities for evening and weekend cover due to the 24hr operation of the assets, but flexibility is always afforded.

    This role will require the candidates to attend various locations in ROI / NI as is required, (wind farms, renewable assets, new technologies) but will primarily be based either in the Republic of Ireland, more specifically the Munster region or Northern Ireland. Travel to other Energia sites and office locations will also be required, in addition to providing regular support to other site supervisors. As the majority of Energia’s assets and personnel are present in Dublin and Northern Ireland, an amount of travelling will be expected to engage with other team members on an on-going basis.

    Your key responsibilities and accountabilities

    Day-to-day, here’s what your new role would look like:

    • Ensure all personnel on site are safely inducted and all work on site is carried out in a safe manner.

    • Ensure safe working practices and procedures are adhered to at all times by both contractors and internal personnel.

    • Hands on day-to-day operation of the entire wind farm site and site infrastructure.

    • New technologies may be incorporated at development stage or planned later on an existing operational site – these new technologies will be included in your responsibilities for the role.

    • Fault-finding and operation on the LV / MV / HV apparatus as required.

    • Engaging specialist contractors as required.

    • Review, Monitor and report on OEM / O&M site activity (Daily, weekly, monthly basis).

    • Be the single point of contact for site issues.

    • Liaise with OEM’s and O&M provider on various subjects whether via email or monthly calls.

    • Liaise with internal back office / other site-based staff on a daily basis to report/ respond to issues, gain knowledge on all operational requirements.

    • Attend meetings on and off site and report on any issues which may arise from the same. Present at meetings at various times to the rest of the team/ external stakeholders as required.

    • Monitor progress of outage work.

    • Compliance with requirements of managed service agreements for Energia’s contracted operational wind farms.

    • Use of internal/ external software to monitor and manage the health of the assets. Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System to capture all works occurring on site and ensure good valuable information is obtained from OEM’s / contractors and any other personnel carrying out works.

    • Attend training both internal and external as and when required and as directed by your line manager.

    • Demonstrate flexibility within the role as there will be some out-of-hours operational requirements.

    Our key criteria

    These are the qualifications, experience, skills, or knowledge you must have:

    • Degree in the area of Engineering and/or a strong wind industry trade background.

    • Broad based operational and technical knowledge of wind turbines (multi-platform, multi-OEM) with proven ability to identify faults and take action on same.

    • Previous experience of supervising electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair work, high voltage electrical networks and liaising with network companies.

    • Full, clean driving license, and a willingness to travel to other locations for various reasons as required.

    • Comprehensive level of IT knowledge/ computer skills / Microsoft Office and email.

    Our desirable criteria

    These help decide between talent who meet all the essential criteria:

    • Familiarity with multi technology and multi wind turbine OEM platforms (Enercon, GE, Siemens & Nordex – candidates with experience of these OEMs will have a distinct advantage).

    • Understanding of the industry standard wind turbine safety rules.

    • Previous experience of electrical switching.

    • Previous experience of working to a safety system.

    • Previous experience of working to ISO 55001 Asset Management system.

    • Previous experience of using a maintenance management system.

    • Experience or appreciation of PLC programming.

    • Previous experience of working to environmental standards / policies.
