Purpose of the team
To deliver and support an effective and enabling IT service for Tearfund worldwide.
We support the objectives of Tearfund by delivering our service through close engagement with the organisation
and ensuring that Tearfund IT is a cost-effective enabler for all aspects of Tearfund’s work. The work of the team is
critical to the successful operation of our work at every site throughout the world.
Main purpose of the job
This role has a joint focus:
As a Systems Developer, reporting to a Senior Developer and developing software solutions in the remit of
the Senior Developer. This involves working collaboratively with colleagues inside and outside the IT team
to define requirements, develop software solutions and support teams in the use of such systems.
Providing specialist development skills across the Application Development Team: researching new
technologies, recommending and implementing solutions and taking responsibility for some technical
areas which are relevant across the team.
The broader purpose of this role is to work with colleagues and clients in the ongoing provision of high quality
cost-effective IT software solutions for the use of Tearfund staff and our external audience. These solutions may
include finance software, contact relationships management, website content management, project monitoring
and evaluation and other systems required by Tearfund.
