We are recruiting a Senior Mental Health Youth Worker
for our new service at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich, London
. This role focuses on providing specialist support to young people aged 11-18 attending A&E due to mental health crises, including self-harm.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering holistic, trauma-informed care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Supervising and supporting a Mental Health Youth Worker to deliver effective interventions.
- Building relationships with hospital staff and local community organisations to create a strong network of support.
- Working directly with young people both in the hospital and post-discharge in the community.
- Leading team meetings, contributing to staff training, and supporting project evaluation efforts.

Qualifications
Essential:
- Degree-level qualification in youth work, social work, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in supporting young people with complex mental health needs.
- Proven ability to manage teams, deliver training, and build effective partnerships.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding practices and youth development.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with health inequalities and their impact on diverse communities.
- Experience working within London boroughs or similar environments.
