The Aero Gas Turbine (AGT) Controls Field Service
Representative is a Region North America position working with the Gas Turbine
Field Service Manager in the Siemens Energy group, based in the United States.
This role is focused on AGT A05, A20, A35 and A65 controls systems
commissioning and service, and will be able to cross train with other related
product families. The FSR is technically responsible for all facets of the
company’s scope of work during equipment installation and/or subsequent service
inspections/outages. The selected candidate is the primary source of technical
information and services at our customer sites and serves as the link between
our customers and the rest of the company, including but not limited to,
management, sales, and technical support!
How You’ll Make an Impact
Maintain the highest level of a zero-harm culture in part by
following and applying all company and customer EHS policies and programs.
- Energize
equipment, load software, and establish communication on various makes of
PLC platforms. Ability to make minor and major software changes during the
course of normal service or commissioning activities, including changes in
both PLC’s and HMI systems. Perform loop checks, calibrations and fixing
all field end devices
- Interact
with different levels of customer and Siemens organizations to report
progress, resolve issues, and identify potential services to be offered
based on customer needs.
- Ability
to resolve complex problems as required on machinery and ancillary
systems. Coordinate with engineering in reporting and implementing changes
as necessary to resolve issues. Maintain accurate backup copies of all
system software.
- Communicate
progress, schedules, and open items with client. Prepare detailed
technical reports.
- Travel
for extended periods of time, both domestic and international as assigned
and perform duties on day or night shift under difficult conditions, heat,
cold, noise, etc. with the ability to travel on short notice and work
weekends and holidays. Must carry valid passport and driving license and
be able to pass both required background checks and International
assignments are likely to include travel to developing countries.
What You Bring
- A
4-year engineering degree OR a minimum of 5-7 years of direct related
experience with an advanced understanding of instrumentation, control
systems and PLC’s required.
- Ability
to understand and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
required.
- Experience
with Allen Bradley ControlLogix systems in power generation or oil and gas
industries is strongly preferred.
- Must
be willing to travel on average 70% Domestically and occasional
Internationally travel
- Must
have a valid driver’s license and passport (or have the ability to obtain
a valid passport).
- Previous
AGT gas turbine controls training/certification/experience on Siemens
Controls and systems and commissioning activities including FT55, FT100,
FT110, Wonderware a plus.
All candidates must be authorized to work within the United
States without need of current or future sponsorship. Internal applicants with
existing sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfer.
