    As a Project Engineer you will decide the extent of appropriate development activities to achieve a feasible solution for part release. Define all responsible project and design engineering activities within detailed timing plans. You will steer the Engineering development team for all elements assigned within the Bespoke development process. Work collaboratively with project engineers in other technical disciplines, where design requires multi-disciplinary input (i.e. Mechanical / Electrical).
    Key Accountabilities:Complete Technical Design, Development and Release•Creation of conceptual alternatives•Research intellectual property boundaries and opportunity for registration of new IP.•Evaluation of conceptual alternatives to support Project and Purchasing colleagues with make or buy decisions.•Generation of Bill of Material (BOM).•Creation of the technical design risk assessment, using DFMEA methodology. Steering collaborative input with colleagues within engineering design, manufacturing, purchasing and parts quality (QMT).•Plan and steer the Engineering cost provision for the project.•Ensure the engineering design is integrated within the series product packaging without unforeseen effects to the product performance.•Ensure that the products are suitably “Designed for Manufacture” (DfM)•Ensure that the functional / technical quality and perceived quality requirements are determined and recorded within drawings and documentation.•Support colleagues within CR-T-x with the process risk assessment, using PFMEA methodology.•Steer the creation of CAD models/data/ drawings / 3D measurement plan with the Design Engineer and performing verification.•Creation of the Design Verification Plan (DVP) & Process Validation Plan (PVP) listing the specific test, evaluation & simulation activities that the product is required to fulfil.•Steer the test, evaluation and simulation activities as required by the DVP & PVP, working with colleagues within internal and external laboratories.•Ensure that product and project parameters are achieved: product properties, costs, weight,
    What we’re looking for•Skills / methodologies as specified within the key accountabilities.•Intermediate CAD (Catia V5) competence required.•Broad knowledge of Automotive interior materials including typically; polymers, glass, ceramics, metals, material finishes (coatings / finishes / paint), composites, textiles, along with their associated manufacturing processes, applications, and characteristics.•Knowledge of prototype, low and medium volume manufacturing approaches.•Knowledge of GD&T practices, tolerance chain management.•Ability to self-motivate with a flexible approach to delivering business orientated targets in short project timelines.•Ability to flexibly travel is required (on occasion, project offices in Munich, Germany.•Business/technical German language.•Verification testing experience at a component and vehicle system level with functional, performance and environmental requirements.•Specialist knowledge of natural materials including leathers, wood and associated manufacturing processes.•Knowledge of vehicle integration approaches•Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent•5 years’ experience in an Automotive Engineering environment•Knowledge of Automotive Manufacturing Processes for interior/exterior/electrical components with the ability to select appropriate processes and tooling options for low and medium volume manufacturing volumes.•Knowledge of international automotive legislation and homologation requirements
