    A Snapshot of Your Day

    As a Commodity Manager – Field Services at Siemens Energy, your day will be dynamic and impactful. You’ll start with a team meeting to align on priorities, then dive into planning for procurement activities. Throughout the day, you’ll engage in price discussions with vendors, analyze market trends, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution. Your work will drive cost efficiencies, improve supplier performance, and support Siemens Energy’s mission of balanced, reliable, and affordable energy!

    Personally, you convince with high social competence, goal orientation and independence. In addition, you are characterized by outstanding negotiation competence, as well as excellent presentation skills and drive for innovation. You’ll act as the driver and contact person between the company and our contractors and suppliers and will work on establishing a new portfolio of these services on a global scale to support our current and planned projects.

    Please note, although this position is ideally offered on a hybrid basis within commutable distance to Brno, we are open to discussing remote possibilities within Czech Republic for the right candidate. However, you will be required to travel to Brno to some extent. Also, this position isn’t eligible for visa support so please do not apply if you don’t hold a valid work permit and residence permit in Czech Republic already. 

    How You’ll Make an Impact

    • In your new role, you will be responsible for defining and implementing the purchasing and supplier strategy using bundling potential and other procurement levers. 
    • You will actively source new suppliers and vendors to establish a reliable portfolio of partners to provide the services/ qualified professionals needed to carry out our current and planned projects across the world.
    • You manage and control purchasing activities for vendor management, together with partner functions and other units.
    • Furthermore, you will conduct price and contract discussions to ensure a successful conclusion of the contract.
    • You’ll actively craft and refine purchasing processes across assigned locations and regions, driving cost reduction measures.
    • Additionally, you will lead the independent performance of complex evaluations and analyses of national as well as international procurement markets (demand, market and supplier analyses).

    What You Bring

    • Several years of experience in purchasing or supplier management essential, preferably within sourcing services rather than physical Commodities. A university degree in technical or commercial field desirable but not necessary.
    • You are experienced in relationship management and contract discussions as well as having done close cross-functional partnership with adjacent functional areas (e.g. project management, field service, quality management, etc.) and global procurement teams
    • You have demonstrable knowledge of contract law and purchasing-specific project management
    • Knowledge of international market and country specific requirements for services and professions included in Field Services (electricians, fitters, commission engineers, quality inspectors, etc.) are highly beneficial
    • Proficiency in English and office tools is essential. As is willingness for occasional travel (10-20%). Knowledge of German and Czech/ Slovak languages are a bonus.
