Your new role
An exciting new role within a global manufacturing business within the customer service team has arisen, initially on a temporary contract with the opportunity of going permanent. My client is seeking a highly organised and efficient Customer Service Representative to process orders and enquiries from external customers for sales of manufactured products. The role provides a crucial link between manufactured and traded products and their supply to customers. Responsibilities include maximising loads for economic efficiency, managing product availability to meet customer demand, and ensuring delivery dates are met. The role may also involve deputising for the Customer Service Manager regarding customer supply and meetings as required. Key activities include:
Order Processing:
Receive sales orders via telephone, email, or fax from worldwide customers.
Implement processing procedures to confirm product availability and advise delivery dates.
Raise orders in the company’s SAP system for planning.
Liaise with customers to confirm order delivery dates or work to meet their requirements.
Escalate issues to the Customer Service Manager or Supply Chain Manager if necessary.
Coordinate with the Transport Coordinator to organise transport.
General Administration:
Support main job functions and departmental tasks.
Arrange collection and replacement of products following customer complaints, and relay information to Tech Service and Area Business Managers.
Arrange delivery of customer sample requests, including Health & Safety Data Sheets.
Information Flow Management:
Ensure the correct flow of information from order receipt, order entry, product allocation, picking, and dispatch requirements through the company SAP ERP system.
Team Support:
Support other members of the Customer Service Team as needed.
Interdepartmental Coordination:
Maintain good links between Sales Order Processing, Production Planning, and Transport sections of the business.
Efficiency and Organisation:
Ensure all activities and functions are carried out in a highly organised and efficient manner.
Customer and Internal Liaison:
Liaise extensively with external customers and internal departments, requiring excellent interpersonal skills, customer focus, and communication skills.
What you’ll need to succeed
Experience in an office environment within a manufacturing/chemical setting is ideal.
Excellent interpersonal skills, customer focus, and communication skills are essential.
Highly organised and efficient with good product knowledge.
GCSEs (C or above) in English and Mathematics; a post-high school business-related qualification is desirable.
Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); SAP experience is desirable.
Very confident in business telephone communication.

Initially on a temporary contract, with a competitive salary of £12.00-£14.50 per hour. The role would be based at the office in Immingham. Initially, the role would be fully on site while training, but there is an opportunity for the role to turn permanent and, once competent within the position, flexible and hybrid options are available. You will be joining a well-established team who are friendly and highly experienced.
