The Talent Set and I are excited to partner with a fantastic client within the higher education sector, supporting them on their recruitment for a Deputy Head of Student Communications and Engagement on a 12-month fixed term contract. The successful candidate will be supporting and leading their team to optimise the student experience from initial inquiry to enrolment
Key responsibilities include:
– Leadership & Team Management:
Lead and manage the team, focusing on applicant communications and strategies for conversion.
– Expertise Contribution:
Leverage extensive knowledge and experience in prospective student engagement and communications for team and university-wide initiatives.
– Strategic Involvement:
Actively engage in senior management discussions as a vital member of the Senior Management Team.
– Communications Framework:
Create and uphold a comprehensive framework for applicant communications, ensuring all messages are accurate, compliant, and well-coordinated across various channels.
– Campaign Management:
Oversee the design, implementation, and assessment of conversion campaigns to provide each applicant with a personalized communication experience based on their application status.
– Content Development and Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with the Student Recruitment Content, Digital, and Admissions teams to ensure all prospective student communications align with brand standards, adhere to style guidelines, and effectively encourage desired actions.
– Performance Analysis:
Use prospect feedback and management information reporting to evaluate the effectiveness of engagement initiatives, ensuring they are measurable and impactful.
The successful candidate will:
– Demonstrate the ability to inspire and effectively lead a team, setting clear performance goals.
– Show proven leadership capabilities and a strong capacity to guide a team.
– Employ a data-driven approach to assess the effectiveness of engagement and communication strategies.
– Have extensive experience in higher education marketing and recruitment, particularly throughout the student journey.
– Exhibit proficiency in planning and executing lead generation and conversion campaigns with tailored content.
– Possess excellent copywriting skills, ideally in higher education contexts.
– Have a solid understanding of CRM theories and practices.
– Exhibit strong negotiation and influencing skills across various stakeholder groups.
– Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
The role is a 12-month fixed term contract, hybrid working with 1-2 days in their Central London office. The salary banding for this role is between £50,000 – £60,000. Deadline for applications is Wednesday 16th October 2024.
