An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Development Manager to join Frasers Property UK on a maternity cover contract (12-month FTC) and be an integral member of the Development Team and a key contributor in high profile developments including both refurbishment and new build activities across the Southern Estate, comprising of business parks along the M3 and M4 corridor.
What you’ll be doing as a Development Manager:
- Implement strategies to optimize site value effectively.
- Manage development procurement strategies and tendering processes in alignment with company protocols.
- Oversee appointments of architects, quantity surveyors, and planning consultants to ensure accurate planning, design, and feasibility.
- Ensure all necessary planning approvals are obtained for development.
- Work closely with Asset Management and external stakeholders to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Deliver consistent development schemes aligned with the broader portfolio strategy.
- Maintain rigorous governance and uphold quality standards tailored to each scheme.
- Manage scheme budgets and provide cost reports as needed.
- Produce regular progress reports and prepare presentations for the Investment Committee, Board, and senior management.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, monitor contractor performance, ensure timely and accurate deliverables, and maintain a collaborative, inclusive approach to development scheme delivery.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in a similar role within real estate, so that you are able to ‘hit the ground running’.
- Highly commercial mindset with the ability to oversee projects with values up to £10 million.
- RICS membership is beneficial; IOSH certification is preferred.
- Proficient in traditional and design-build contracts with experience collaborating with professional and design consultants.
- Industrial project experience, particularly in refurbishments, is highly beneficial.
- Strong understanding of all aspects of the development scheme process, with technical and construction expertise.
- Skilled in negotiating appointments, contracts, and associated development documentation.

- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; CAD experience preferred but not essential.
