Optical Support is a highly reputable company specialising in the engineering, design, manufacture, sales, service and rental of camera stabilisation equipment in the Motion Picture Film and Television Industry. In parallel we have a highly skilled motion picture and stills camera lens, wireless focus system and camera stabiliser/ Steadicam support and service department.
We are currently developing cutting edge multiple axis camera stabilisation systems, App controls, metadata systems, power management and video distribution products.
An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our specialised team to work alongside our highly skilled engineers with the development of our current and forthcoming products. We are looking for an individual with a keen interest in electronics design and their application into precision devices to innovate, progress and expand our product range.
The position is open to those who have recently finished studying or in their early career path. We can offer full training alongside our excellent engineers.
Preferred experience:
- Hardware and software experience.
- Working with Embedded C and Swift programming.
- Building API
- Design of IOT
- Working with Altium and Solidworks
- Access to a fully equipped electronics and debug workshop
- Working with precision mechanical engineers
- Direct customer access
- AI applications
- RF systems
Skillset:
- Background in electronics and programming
- Mathematics, physics and chemistry
- CAD and design interfaces
- Ability to visualise, investigate and develop new designs
- Project development

- Understanding of electronic developments in technology
- Research and sourcing of specialist components.
- Direct contact with suppliers and customers
Responsibilities:
You will work alongside our engineering team developing, testing and progressing our existing designs. This will involve electronic designs at component level as well as integrating microcontrollers, processors, drivers, sensors into our designs ready for the testing and development process. As new ideas are created, we work together to get our latest designs concepts proven prior to creating the next product line.
The working hours are on site from 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday with some flexibility.
