Your new role
In your new role as an Engineering Design Manager, you will be entrusted with managing the design, development, and market introduction of new products. You will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with Product Line Leaders, Sales, and Marketing teams to develop design specifications that meet both customer needs and market demands. Your expertise will be crucial in implementing cost-effective design and technology solutions to resolve field issues while mentoring and developing engineering talent within your team. A key part of your role will be ensuring compliance with safety standards and maintaining ongoing improvements to current products.
What you’ll need to succeed
To succeed in this challenging yet rewarding position, you must possess a Degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification. A proven track record in the design, development, and successful launch of construction machinery is essential. Leadership and management skills are paramount for this role along with strong commercial awareness. Familiarity with CAD (preferably Solid Works) and PLM/PDM systems is also required.
