    English Teacher – Mainstream Secondary School – Full-Time – Permanent – Paid To Scale – JANUARY START

    Hays is on the lookout for a dedicated English Teacher to join a ‘Good’ Ofsted-rated mainstream secondary school. The successful candidate will teach English to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, fostering a love of literature and language.

    Qualifications and Experience:• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
    • Degree in English, English Literature, or a related field.
    • Experience teaching English up to Key Stage 5.
    • Previous teaching experience in a secondary school setting is preferred.

    Teaching and Learning:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons.
  • Create lesson plans and schemes of work aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to suit different learning styles.

    • Student Support:

  • Track and assess student progress.
  • Encourage students to read, write, and discuss.
  • Offer extra help to students who need it.

    • Classroom Management

  • Create a positive and well-organised classroom.
  • Manage student behaviour effectively using school rules.
  • Build a respectful and inclusive learning environment.

    • Extracurricular Activities

  • Run English clubs, competitions, and events.
  • Encourage students to explore literature and language outside of class.
