The Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) is an independent charity working towards a fairer, greener, and more prosperous society. Over more than three decades, we have worked to ensure that ideas that once seemed impossible have become a reality. Our impact is shown by the way we have helped shape national conversations and progressive policy change – from making the early case for the minimum wage and taking regional inequality to the top of the political agenda, to proposing a windfall tax on energy companies, our research and policy work has put forward practical solutions for the crisis facing society – to enable justice, progress and change.

We are now seeking a new Executive Director at an incredibly exciting time for the organisation, with the advent of a new government and new IPPR research teams – including a new IPPR international team. This candidate will lead us into the next phase as we navigate and influence the new and complex political landscape. As the Executive Director, you will provide strategic leadership and development, and the operational management of the organisation, to ensure IPPR achieves its missions and objectives, and its research remains at the cutting-edge of public policy.

This is a compelling opportunity for a strategic leader who has a depth of passion and knowledge about the UK political and policy landscape and a desire to curate and deliver the most innovative and progressive ideas into shaping a bold new policy agenda. Working closely with the Chair, Lord Victor Adebowale and the Board, you will bring exceptional and inclusive leadership skills, excellent income generation expertise and in developing business models. With a presence and compelling communication style, you will work collaboratively, empowering teams to thrive and inspire and influence at all levels of our talented and committed team.

If you believe you have the skills, qualities and attributes, this is an unrivalled opportunity to be at the heart of current and future policy debate.
