Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Bedfordshire on a permanent basis starting in January 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to teach Food Technology to Key Stage 3 and 4 students, helping them to develop practical skills and a strong understanding of food science, nutrition, and healthy living.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
- Inspire and challenge students to achieve their full potential in both practical and theoretical elements of the subject.
- Assess, record, and report on the progress and attainment of students.
- Maintain a safe and well-organized classroom environment, adhering to health and safety standards in all practical lessons.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parents’ evenings, and ongoing professional development.
- Contribute to the wider school community and engage with extracurricular activities related to Food Technology.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Specialization or significant experience in teaching Food Technology at Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and assessment requirements for Food Technology.
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- A commitment to student welfare, safety, and inclusion.
Desirable:
- Experience teaching Food Technology at Key Stage 5 (A-Level) would be advantageous but is not essential.
