    The Head of
    Finance for Siemens Energy Transformers Canada Inc.is responsible for the
    efficient and effective financial steering and control of all commercial
    activities in the factory located in Trois Rivieres, Quebec. The Financial Head
    will be responsible for leading the Business in a sustainable manner aligned
    with the global objectives and their achievement, consistent use of steering
    actions to maximize performance, especially profitability. This role will
    report directly to the Head of Finance, Distribution Transformers cluster’s and
    will partner with the General Manager of the facility.

    This is a contract position with duration of 16 months.

    How You’ll Make an Impact



    • This key position provides transparent
      and complete performance controlling and oversees the commercial topics in the
      factory by identifying risks and opportunities and defining and implementing
      appropriate measures to optimize business results.
    • Periodic gap/deviation analysis reports
      need to be prepared including interpretation, development, and controlling of
      corresponding corrective measures.
    • Business plan and yearly Budget
      calculation. Responsible for the financial forecast and reporting of the
      business results. Investment Plan: Performs comparisons Actual vs. Plan and
      pursues effects of agreed measures.
    • May perform assessments of assets and
      liabilities and manages inventory measures on a regular basis.
    • Offer and bid calculations:
      Responsibility for the commercial correctness, and support process of project
      execution to Marketing team. Contract Management / Contract Structuring for
      internal and external business (Contract Analysis, clarifications, deviations,
      tax analysis, risk evaluation, insurance concepts).
    • Productivity management: Derive and set
      target costing (cost breakdown, cost out initiatives, avoidance of overspending
      etc.) to improve product competitiveness. Knowledge in Treasury, Accounting and
      Tax related topics. Hire, train and retain skilled finance employees


    What You Bring 
     

    • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in
      Accounting (CPA preferred) and 8+ years’ relevant experience in
      product/manufacturing or similar environment
    • Experience in
      Transmission/Distribution Business or similar industries in energy industry
      preferred and prior experience in strategic planning and success in a team
      environment
    • Proven leadership/team management
      skills with the ability to optimize processes, finance performance and product
      development.
    • Detail oriented and willing to dig
      with your team to get the info required. Excellent analytical and
      problem-solving skills, Strong Presentation Skills and team oriented
    • Enthusiasm, assertiveness and
      proactiveness are desirable. A willingness and attitude to transfer knowledge
      is necessary.
    • Very good knowledge of French and
      English both written and spoken. Proficient in SAP and MS Office
    • This position is in a French-speaking environment but requires fluency in English to comprehend documentation and technical terms from international sources, and to communicate with customers, suppliers, or international colleagues.

    stabilization and storage, high voltage switchgears and transformers, and
    digital grid technology.
    Our
    Trois-Rivières plant manufactures distribution transformers for the North
    American electrical grid. We are part of the Distribution Transformer Cluster,
    a group of 7 plants around the world, with which it is possible to exchange on
    our best practices as well as our challenges in order to collaborate and help
    each other daily. The finance team is composed of members bringing experience
    and a fresh perspective, which facilitates the maximization and efficiency of
    activities.
