A
Snapshot of Your Day
As the head of Installed Base solutions,
your day-to-day activities will be focused on building and managing software
products around time series data and event data coming from the installed base
fleet of Siemens Energy.
You will be responsible for overseeing
and managing the software developers that develop and maintain those tech
stacks that will be used to deliver SE remote engineering services (monitoring,
diagnostics, prognostics, asset management, performance optimization,
troubleshooting and others).
You will work closely with the
responsible product owners that oversee delivering those products to the
business units by leading/supporting the assessment of features’ feasibility,
costs and resources that are needed for execution.
Your day will include supervising and
leading the team’s performance, analyzing your team individual capabilities,
required skill levels, developing strategies to improve efficiency and quality,
ensuring smooth execution of product development process within the new
Software Factory framework within DPS.
You will be responsible for growing
people capabilities and for identifying talents, being happy to lead by example
and engaging in technical/coding tasks.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- As department head, you will play a
critical role in establishing and building the new department from
scratch. - You will be responsible for ensuring
the quality and efficiency of software application development for
customers and Business Units. - Your impact will be measured by the
success of the department in building solid products and ensuring proper
utilization of resources and providing critical skill levels that are
important to the organization. - Key responsibilities include
creating and implementing staff development strategies, training, ensuring
software quality, identifying and analyzing market and technology trends
(particular focus on analytics), and collaborating with other departments
to drive growth from a strategic standpoint. - You understand how to leverage your
software development projects on top of SE software factory platform
model.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in computer
science, software engineering, or a related technical field. - At least 10+ years of experience in
software development ideally with some years in a senior or management
position. - Strong technical knowledge of modern
software development methods (e.g. Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Scrum of Scrum,
Pair programming, Squads), programming languages (e.g. Python, C#, Java,
JavaScript, typescript) and cloud technologies. - Experience in leading software
development projects from idea to market launch. - Proven experience in fostering
innovation and applying Design Thinking and Lean Startup principles. - Strong leadership skills with the
ability to empower and lead interdisciplinary teams! - Good knowledge of the Energy
Industry coming from several years of experience that allows you to be
familiar with the latest trends and needs (especially for the aftermarket
sector). - Applicants
must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without
need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens
Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for
internal transfers.
