    THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE CENTRE

    The Russian Language Centre (RLC) is a thriving language school located in Bloomsbury, central London. We teach Russian as a foreign language to adult learners. Our busy programme of in-person and online groups has up to 420 students registered each term, while we also run a large number of individual courses.

    The School Administrator is a key member of a small admin team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the school: organising teacher schedules and room bookings, managing a busy school office, providing support to students and managing teacher workloads.

    You will also be the public face of RLC: selling our courses in person, by email and phone, organising staff and student events, welcoming new students to RLC.

    The role additionally offers exciting opportunities for involvement in all aspects of running a small business, including marketing and pricing strategies, the development of new services, developing RLC’s online presence.

    The position is likely to appeal to those with a strong interest in Russia, its language and culture. The successful candidate will have previous office and administrative experience; experience in customer services and account management is also desirable. You will be able to show that you have the following attributes:

    • strong organisational skills
    • a friendly and relaxed manner
    • excellent communication skills
    • attention to detail
    • the ability to work without supervision and to tight deadlines
    • the ability to prioritise your workload, combining day-to-day administrative tasks with longer-term strategic goals
    • excellent written and spoken English
    • high competence in basic MS Office programmes: Word, Excel, Outlook. Familiarity with Excel databases is a particular advantage
    • knowledge of Russian is an advantage, facilitating communication with Russian-speaking staff as well as offering a point of contact with current and potential students.
