Mapping of Order Engineering Relations for Future Simulation Possibilities

    A Snapshot of Your Day

Your day within Order Engineering at Siemens Energy will be influenced by a high pace where a lot of things happens daily. Different order engineering functions, control, electrical, mechanical and process engineering work together in customer projects to customize gas turbines according to customer specifications. Seamless connections between different functions are both crucial and complex. Specifications for purchasing needs to be produced on-time to meet stipulated delivery times.
A gas turbine is characterized by high complexity, long lead time and a high value. Capacity planning is important to manage ongoing customer projects but also to be prepared for future projects that may be won tomorrow or within a few years from now. Order intake might slip, or sudden orders may appear. It is therefore important to be able to understand current resource situation both in numbers, competences but also regarding the interplay between different resources is therefore crucial.

    How You’ll Make an Impact

    ● Mapping of required resources from start to end for generic customer projects
    ● Map current order engineering capacity and the capacity flexibility at hand short-term, mid-term and long-term
    ● Map the relation between capacity and competence for critical functions
    ● Map the variability in ongoing projects regarding delays, and the effects of these as well as the current ability to absorb changes
    ● Create a conceptual model for how to create a simulation model that can handle slippages, upcoming future projects and different types of customer project scenarios

    What You Bring

    ● Currently pursuing a MSc in Mechanical Engineering preferably with a focus on system thinking / system dynamics or planning and control
    ● Holistic problem-solving view
    ● Ability to independently find solutions to challenges and problems
    ● Structured and effective communicator

    About the Team

You will have your base in a small and dedicated tactical planning team responsible for sales and Operations Planning in the company. The focus will however be on the order engineering team which is a large team with different functions which can be seen as a part of Operations.

    Our Gas Services division
offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
