Mechanical Engineer – Materials & Design

    A Snapshot of Your Day

    You will be a key player in the Mechanical engineering team, focusing on the design, analysis, and manufacturing support for various hardware of Oil and Gas industry i.e. turbomachinery. You will work collaboratively with various departments to execute Fields of Action (FoA) co-creation projects, contributing to the development of a competitive portfolio and leading the energy transition.

    How You’ll Make an Impact / Responsibilities

    Material Consultation:

    • Evaluate Materials Specifications and Industrial Standards for composition of materials and alloys
    • Address issues for Material Substitutions, manufacturing Quality Notifications
    • Collect relevant test data for given materials and properties and perform data evaluations based on existing methodologies.

    Design and Development:

    • Responsible for designing and development of various components (e.g. Rotor, Casings etc.) to meet full spectrum of design requirements (functionality, robustness, cost effectiveness, manufacturing requirements and technology, assembly requirements and service requirements).
    • Applies appropriate methods which focus on robust design, like tolerance, analysis, standards and design rules.
    • Create/prepare/review 2D and 3D CAD model of individual/assembly NX model of different stationary and rotary components. Tool experience in NX will be preferred.
    • Project Contribution: Actively contribute to focused project teams to support technology and product development objectives, particularly in the area of Mechanical Design and Development.
    • Collaboration: Foster a collaborative work ethic within the team and the ICA, promoting knowledge sharing and innovation.
    • Communication: Effectively communicate with multiple functional groups, including Business Areas and Global Innovation Centers, to ensure alignment and successful project execution.

    What You Bring / Skills, Capabilities

    • Educational Background: University degree in Mechanical engineering or a related field (Master/Bachelor/Diploma) or comparable qualification.
    • Experience: 8+ years of work experience in the field of Mechanical Design and Development, with a strong focus on material selection.

    Technical Skills:

    • Expertise in designing and modelling in Siemens NX.
    • Proficiency in specifying and implementing different materials based on application.

    Professional Attributes:

    • Proven track record of co-creation with customers or similar collaborative projects will be preferred.
    • High energy, enthusiasm, and a focus on achieving results that benefit the company and the Innovation Center.
    • Willingness to take on challenging projects to support the growth of the ICA.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to drive quick results.
    • Excellent English language skills.
