Position: Teacher of Music. School: Ofsted rated ‘Good’ Secondary School. Location: Islington, North London. Salary: £165 – £265 per day depending on experience. Job Type: Temporary. Start Date: April 2024 (or earlier if possible).
About the Role: Hays Education are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Islington. As a Music Teacher, you will inspire and engage students in Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) Music. Your role will involve planning and delivering high-quality music lessons, fostering creativity, and nurturing students’ musical talents.
Responsibilities:
Design and deliver engaging music lessons that align with the national curriculum and cater to the needs of KS3 and KS4 students.
Develop students’ musical skills, including instrumental proficiency, music theory, composition, and performance.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated and supported.
Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and track their development.
Collaborate with colleagues to organise music events, concerts, and performances.
Encourage student participation in extracurricular music activities and clubs.
Requirements:
Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching music at KS3 and/or KS4 level.
Strong knowledge of music theory, history, and various musical genres.
Ability to inspire and engage students through creative teaching methods.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to promoting a love for music and fostering students’ musical abilities.
Additional Information:
This is a temporary position starting from Easter 2024, with the option of transitioning to a permanent role from July 2024.
