A Snapshot of Your Day
As an Obsolescence Manager (f/m/d), your task is to ensure that our service portfolio and solutions, or components, always meet current technological requirements. To achieve this, you will work closely with various departments such as procurement, engineering, and development to monitor the lifecycle of components (mechanical and IED components) and minimize risks associated with obsolete parts. Your daily work includes analyzing market and technology trends to identify potential obsolescence issues early and take appropriate measures. You will develop and implement strategies for parts procurement and inventory management to ensure that we can rely on alternative sources or replacement parts when needed. Finally, you play a key role in communicating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure that our solutions remain competitive and sustainable.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Technical project management and lifecycle control of service transmission solutions, including substations, HVDC, and FACTs
- Drafting and tracking internal and external solutions (e.g., PDN, PCN) until implementation
- Coordination with procurement, engineering, project execution, and manufacturing for proactive obsolescence management
- Managing sub-projects during product takeovers from original suppliers and manufacturers
- Developing and updating obsolescence management plans while reviewing and specifying technical requirements
- Creating business cases and collaborating with interface partners for task coordination
What You Bring
- Degree in engineering, industrial engineering or related field
- Several years of work experience in engineering or production related field
- In-depth technical knowledge of power systems
- Fluent in German and English
- Strong organisational, communication and analytical skills with a structured and customer-focused approach
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 25% of time, with occasional travel within Europe
