    My client, an innovative FTSE 250 professional services company, is looking to add a talented PR Executive to its corporate affairs team.

    The single biggest attribute this team looks for in new hires is a positive attitude. This is genuinely a business that rewards proactivity, and one where you can make a difference beyond the confines of comms. That said, it’s essential applicants have previous PR / comms experience, as well as a passion for current affairs and keeping up with the latest news. Strong writing skills are also essential.

    The corporate affairs team sits at the heart of the business, overseeing all PR and Public Affairs activity. You’ll be promoting the business’ proactive campaigns, as well taking a key role in managing reactive press enquiries on a broad range of issues.

    Ideal for someone wanting to develop a career in communications, this role will offer a sound foundation in PR with the opportunity to expand the remit for the right candidate. You’ll gain hands on experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders including different types of media and colleagues throughout the business.

    Based in stunning central London offices (3 days in per week) this FTSE 250 company touches on a remarkable breadth of sector activity. Current focus areas include decarbonisation & net zero, technology and AI, and skills apprenticeships. Other services it offers include risk assessment, real estate, catering and environmental. Indeed it manages and maintains some of the nation’s most recognised landmarks, high street buildings, retail outlets and even homes in the community

    As such this is a varied and rewarding role, with examples of duties including:

    – supporting the delivery of a full proactive PR service. This includes delivering PR campaigns, managing a pipeline of regular press activity and drafting timely, compelling and accurate content such as press releases, articles, comment pieces and social activity
    – juggling this alongside daily press office needs, being able to react quickly and capably to respond to complex enquiries and potential issues, including on an out-of-hours basis on occasion
    – supporting key events in the corporate calendar, such as annual results and events, including general event management, venue liaison, onsite logistics and collating briefing material
    – building relationships with internal stakeholders to find out about new initiatives, unearthing potential stories and generating PR ideas
    – responsibility for for maintaining the company’s newsroom, distributing press releases and ensuring content is kept up to date
    – being an advocate for the PR team, compiling evaluation reports to play back success internally and increasing awareness of the support the team provides
    – supporting with public affairs activity on an ad hoc basis, as part of the team’s integrated approach to external communications.
