    As a Principal Engineer for Protection Systems in HV Projects at Digital Grid, you’ll be at the forefront of engineering ground breaking Protection Systems for High Voltage Switchgear. Your role will involve crafting innovative protection concepts tailored to customer specifications, ensuring each project is a perfect fit. You’ll collaborate closely with external suppliers specializing in secondary protection systems, driving the development of groundbreaking solutions for our key customers in the UK and beyond.     How You’ll Make an Impact
    • Technical clarifications with customers, EPCs and consultants and selection of appropriate protection devices according to customer requirements
    • Creation of project specific technical specifications, documents, manuals, etc. and detailed Design/configuration of project specific protection systems
    • Administration and coordination of signal lists
    • Supervision and quality assurance of external suppliers in the fields of secondary protection systems
    • Conduct customer training and support PreFAT/FAT and commissioning activities.
    • Takes ownership for quality, time, and costs of own results.
    • Prepares technical and commercial customer offers for their technical field.
    • Actively participate in research and development activities together with other specialists to develop the state-of-the-art protection and control solutions of the future grid.
    What You Bring
    • Degree in Electrical/Electronics, Automation or similar with Chartered Engineer Status as preferrable.
    • Professional experience with protection systems
    • Good understanding of UK Transmission and distribution standards having worked with key UK TSO/DNO Operators.
    • Deep knowledge in protection devices ideally with multiple vendors
    • Knowledge within different protection philosophies and protection test equipment like OMICRON
    • Good knowledge in communication protocols used in automation systems like IEC101, IEC104, IEC61850
    • Good Understanding about OT security standards (IEC 62443, ISO 27019), technologies and best practices for substation automation engineering
    • Very good understanding of Energy business and the way it operates and very good communications skills in English.
